A friend of mine has just passed his test and loves his Talbot Samba to bits. It's completely stock and in perfect nick considering it's 26 years old. His 18th is coming up so I want to get him something for the car (which I picture as a future rally slag). Some wheels would be out of my price range so I was thinking of a 1980s rally-esque steering wheel.
What kind of fitment is it likely to be? I can't really go poking around his car covertly to find out!

Same as peugeot 104. So probably same as 205,309, 305, 505 etc etc.

You mean like this That's my old Samba Rallye Steering wheel fitment is is true Peugeot style a bit odd. Adapter kits are available for most makes of wheel but I've found the one from the Samba Rallye/S/104S/ZS to be perfectly good. Looks retro with three spokes, drilled holes and has a nice chunky rim. Try searching garlic bay.

Ooh, just like that. So a 205 GTI wheel would fit okay I take it and you just need the boss kits for non OEM wheels? There's a few 3 spoke, leather wheels on ebay i'm watching....would just need a new centre with Talbot on it!

You see a few boss kits on ebay from time to time, other than that you'd have to speak to the steering wheel manufacturers about fitment/kit Samba stuff comes up on french ebay pretty regualarly. Also if your interested I have spare Alloys. A set of 3 stud Amils in 5in size to fit 165/70/ 13 tyres. Makes the samba look much better, and as they were a factory option it won't effect the little tikes insurance. Hello Jenn Yes. It was a long story. Bought it as a parts car for a 104 ZS I was building, but the ZS was scrapped and the Samba was way too good to break up, infact it was mint so I used that for a while. Huge grin factor as it could out handle most of the local lads cars. Sadly it still only had a standard UK rallye engine so 80 BHP and wrong cylinder head, cruddy carbs etc. Engine broke a con rod (which I am told is pretty rare for that engine) and it ended up going up to the Highlands of Scotland where it is driven by the daughter of a chap I know. He rally's a 104 ZS so it's a family thing. Much prefer the 104 ZS version for some reason. Still Sambas rock too. Great rally cars.
