I am selling my mark 4 golf which I brought off my brother 3 months ago. My brother had this car for 4 years. I recently got a bonus at my new job and brought a comfortable cruiser to cover the 150 miles I commute each day.
The good bits:
New Clutch,
New Cambelt
New Brakes
New Suspension bushes
Alpine radio with IPOD connection
Average of 55 MPG
The Bad bits
Two dings, one on each side of the car and both on the doors. Can be replaced easily.
Left headlight is not flush with the bonnet. My brother had a front end collision at low speed which broke the headlight and bent the bonnet.
Airbag light stays on. I am not sure if this is from the collision discribed above or a loose connection, either way it has never been deployed.
Needs a service.
Since purchasing the car, I have done over 8000 miles and the only time it let me down was when the clutch went at new year. I have sunk quite a bit of money into her as I have been commuting large distances but I have now upgraded to something bigger with cruise control.
