Here we have my cool as f**k 1989 Mercedes 190e 2.0 Manual and due to my poor fiscal health and the imminent purchase of my first house, I need to free up some funds and with this in mind, the Benz must go.
As I said, she is a 1989 Mercedes 190e 2.0 Manual with 134000miles on the clock and as my daily, she has never ever let me down. I had purchased her with the intention of giving her to 'Euro Treatment' but she is such a comfortable and reliable cruiser, I left her alone aside from putting a few stickers on the rear screen. She is taxed and M.O.T'd until April '11.
Bodywork wise, she can't be faulted aside from the paint being a bit flat but it's nowt a good polish won't sort. The interior is not bad either, just a bit grubby in parts. She is like a big retro, comfy armchair and as such has been my favourite mode of transport to get me from my home in Epsom, Surrey to my Missus' gaff in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, a round trip of 360 miles.
As always with cars of this age, there are a couple of bad points. The mid section of the exhaust has developed a slight blow and the bonnet is missing its insulation. The car comes with no history, but having worked in the motor trade for a number of years, cars of this age rarely do unless they are something special. Other than that, she is fault less. All the electric windows work as does the sunroof and she is equipped with a fully functioning tow bar. Even the period Blaupunkt 'London' Radio/Cassette player works a treat :-)I've also recently replaced a 2x rear drive shafts and done a tyre.
I've been as honest as I can in describing my Benz but as ever, I'm bound to have omitted something. I highly recommend coming to see the old girl, she'll not disappoint. She makes a cool and more interesting alternative to other more common place retro machinery and the numberplate 'G333KYA' looks like GEEEKYA or GEEEKYER!
I have more photos, which I can send if requested.
Looking for £400
