Hi terror suspects... I have a mate with a 106 'Graduate' (has a sun roof!) and it has a coolant leak under the dash - this must be the heater matrix yeah?.... so... haynes manual - 87 steps - whole dash out !! is this the ONLY way ? I've been under and dismantled half but before we go the whole hog, anyone have any other ideas? excuse the bodge, but would radweld delay the problem ?? Cheers Rob

i have done a few 106 matrix's mate. The main problem is that you cant slide the matrix out cos the pedals are in the way. This means that you have to remove the heater box which in turn means u have to take out the dash. They are horrible to do as there are loads of clips at the back of the dash by the windscreen which break. If you go to attemt it, go to peugeot first and buy a hand full of them as otherwise you will have a squeaky/rattly dash.
Another possible route is to remove the pedal box but that isnt alot of fun either!!!
As a quick fix just remove the matrix out of the picture all together. Take the pipes off where they go through the bulkhead down by the drivers side of the bulkhead. Just connect the 2 rubber pipes with a bit of copper pipe or whatever you have laying around that will fit and secure with a couple of jubilee clips.
Hope that helps :-)

Of course you wont have a heater but you also wont have wet feet. TOM.

Excellent - that was my next option (join pipes) - it's not my car or that's what I would do (It just delays it until it cold tho : Cheers mate - not what I wanted to hear but it's good to get clarification... Thanks - Rob
