Well, It's stopping me putting the bottom end together now, so sooner the better really, but not life or death.
What you got in mind ?

Ah, that's bad luck for you. Hope you get sorted ok. I'll keep looking, but I'm due to get distracted with bodywork so I may still be on for this in a few weeks time

I presume you've asked on the Triumph Sport Six forum and Club Triumph?

what about canley classics? to be fair i'd be using new big end bolts on any engine I built these days, (not saying I havent built others in the past with used ones mind) unless they're specials? -if not then you can get cap-head bolts cheeply which are likely to be better than originals. I buy ones that match the parallel shank length and then trim the thread length if they're too long. or are this any good? - not cheap mind, but then again they are ARP www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2295

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm building this engine on something of a tight budget. Canleys want £3.60+vat per bolt. If I put one new one in, then I'd have to replace all of them really which is another £52 I can do without spending. Makes the ARP ones look a little more reasonable.
My thinking of using a used one, is that it'll already be proven and providing it measures up ok, ie not showing any signs of stretch, then all should be well and balanced through out the engine.
