when i do ine i basicly
Acid dip Shot blast Machine off kerbing etc. Polish Mask off Paint Final polish
When i polish normaly do it on the lathe as i find that is good enough for me but if i need it better then i use a mop.
Whatever happens don't laquer them or within a couple of years they will be back to how they looked to start with!

Whole wheels or just the rims?
2nd hand i payed £120ish for 4 4" outer rims in pretty good nick and 5 3" outer rims with some curbing and battle scars.
New rims from image were around £50 each when i enquired but they don't do 10" anymore.
For whole wheels brand new check out minispeed site. They do an afordable split rim.
2nd hand whole rims I'm not too sure about. Never seen a set relly.

is that 3" wide!!? wish i had money, I'm still kinda working out what is available, might just stick some cooper S reverse rims on the back with 165's on them.
p.s. BC that wheel polishing guide is very useful!
i have some mini 1100 special wheels that i was thinking of doing, they are a 10" turbo type wheel, but they had a polished lip and a painted middle, was thinking of polishing the whole things... but they are raw castings in the middle where the paint was.
what do you guys paint the backs of your wheels with? just the same as the front? it gets dirtier and hardly ever cleaned on a road car so is the most likly palce for corrosion to start?
