Was real gutted about the speakers too and they catch on the window winders Will ditch em and fit some flush ones unless I can get a pair of replacement door cards. Tidy looking Jetta in your sig kingsmith looks ace on the P slots. I have some uncut door cards in matching colour to yours. I'll dig them out at the weekend, and you can make me an offer... I also will shortly have a full set of polished P-slots with centrecaps, should you be interested.

Great looking Jetta mate. My dad had an early MK2 jetta, but traded it in for his MK2 Golf 16v. Gotta love brown, that dashboard is pretty rare. Shame about those curse word speakers, someone did that same thing to the door cards on my MK1 polo.

Why do manufacturers insist on giving cars different names in different countries it was known as a vw fox in south africa they have become a good budget car to build here as nobody wanted them everyone wanted a golf but on the up side all 2010 citi golf parts fit so a modern cheap upgrade is affordable and reliable

The tooling was then sold to SA, who put a MK1 Golf Citi front end on it. The decision to call it the Fox was to avoid confusion with the new Mk2 Jetta, which was being sold in Europe and North America at the same time.

VIP - That would be great, i am definately interested. Send me some pics asap and hopfully we can do a deal, thanks Like the sound of P slots too... Talking of alloys i got these off a workmate at the weekend. They are from a Scirocco Scala he used to have years ago. They look a bit nasty as they've been in his basement a long time and the laquer is flaking off but they are all straight and true. Refurb time i think... Hoping to end up like this,

I realise it's a ball ache now you've put your carpet back in, but have you tried jetwashing to see if that stain in the passenger footwell will come out? My old Mk1 Jetta carpets were filthy, so I hung them up and jetwashed them, let them dry for a few days, and they came up like brand new. It's very satisfying watching all the dirty water coming out the bottom of the carpets when you're cleaning them.

I've not jetwashed the carpet but i did give it a half hearted scrub with shampoo and a brush when i first removed it. I can borrow a jetwasher so it's not out of the question and the carpet is only placed in the car and not fixed in yet so getting it out is easy. Thanks for the tip
