For Sale – Landrover Discovery 300TDi
1997 Landrover Discovery 300TDi, auto with high and low ratio and diff lock, 7 seats, Epsom Green, very low mileage for year (about 93k, but creeping up as in daily use), MOT until August, Tax until end of November (being a 1997 model it has cheaper rate tax than the newer Disco’s - £205 per year).
Japanese import 5 years ago so has extras not often found on UK Disco’s like cruise control and air-con, but no sunroof (not a bad thong - they are notorious for leaving anyway on these cars). The other benefit to buying a J import is that they don’t have what British Landrovers usually have – rust!! This one is totally rust free everywhere.
Usual extras – alloy wheels, remote central locking / alarm, Thatcham immobilisor, electric windows and mirrors, tow pack with twin electrics.
This Disco has never been off road (living in Surrey the most extreme off road action it has seen is Waitrose car park!). Having said that it was fantastic in the recent snow and I was able to do my 30 mile commute to work easily so had no excuse not to turn up (unlike some of my colleagues who couldn’t get off their own drives!)
I’ve spent a lot of money getting this Discovery into very good order – in the last few months it has had 4 new tyres, new Kenwood iPod compatible CD player, new diesel lift pump, new propshaft donut, updated clear indicators (like the new TD5 Discovery), new tow-bar – only used twice since I’ve had it to tow a bike trailer, it's had the EGR valve mod and a de-cat down pipe for better economy and more bhp.
£2999 SOLD promised the other half that I wouldn't but might be persuaded to swap or p/x for something really tempting.........
Not the cheapest Discovery on the market I know, but I think it’s one of the best. Only for sale as I have 4 other cars and can’t justify keeping them all!
This has been a great car to own, with the rear seats down you can get huge loads in it and it would make a great tow vehicle – but I used it mostly for taking my elderly aunts to church on Sundays
