My dad is more into them than me. More record players than radios lately. But anything pre 70's , Preferably with valves.... ;D
Ive got a small collection of late 70's and 80s ghetto-blasters, And some small Roberts portables...
Those you listed are very nice though. Id like to restore one like that . See them all the time at bootsales just needing a clean and some switchcleaner in the volume switch to be as good as new...

My Dad's got an old Ekco AD65 in perfect working order, complete with original looking wax capacitors (he's put modern caps in the original casings to maintain the appearance IIRC!)
It's a great looking old thing!

I love old radios, its just a shame you can't control the curse word that's played on the waves these days huh? haha... I listen to the coast (southern station) Its actually damn good realy. Loads of COOL old stuff on it rather than curse word loads of george michael like you get on Radio2 or wave105 Get loads of bowie, supertramp, JJcale, kinks, thinlizzy, T rex... All my favorites haha.... Sometimes some throws a rihanna song in there just to p*ss me off though ;D Saying that... You have to have an old set that can recieve FM to listen though

Old radios from the 30'-50's are one of my weaknesses. The heavily deco styled ones I just cannot resist. About 15 years ago I had a vintage valve based guitar amplifier that needed servicing. The bastid I had give me a repair quote asked me what I thought the amp was worth and then tacked $50 on top of the number I told him as the cost of repair. I knew a capacitor from a resistor so I decided I wanted to learn old valve based circut repair. I bought the first old audio thing I found for under $5. It was a late 50's portable record player. Diagnosing the problem was easy and for a few dollars I had it working great. So I bought an old 1940's radio and got it fixed as well. It became a hobby and like they always do an obsession. I currently have at least 70 radios tucked into shelves, cupboards, on top of refrigerators...everywhere. They are all AM only and there is not a decent AM radio station within range so they all work perfectly, yet are never on. Some of the highlights are a crosley dashboard Old Zenith 10s669 lots of old motorolas, silvertones, And lots lots more. I recently unearthed a box that has at least 10 that I put away when I moved house 8 years ago that need to be repaired and displayed. I have a problem
