So for want of much else entertaining to do this afternoon, myself and 'berlinetta' decided to crack on with some bits on my truck.
First job was bosh in a new thermostat. Easy. Five minute job.
Oh no.
The good book lists step 1 as 'undo drain plug or tap on underside of radiator.'
What? Where? There is no frugging drain plug or tap!
Scuppered for now, as it being so filthy wet & raining I really didn't fancy rolling around on the road under the beast.
So we thought a nice easy task would be to bosh on my new 'modular' steels.
After getting drenched going to the garage to fill them up with air, it was discovered that one has a fooked seal on the tyre. Bum.
Then the b*gg*r slipped off the jack, nearly squashing Russell in the process. Luckily the wheel was half on and it didn't crash to the ground. That WOULD have been pants.
To add insult to injury, on of the wheel studs sheared off. F*CKSTICKS!
Turns out someone had done a dodgy spot weld on it in the past... it was rotten all the way through
Ho-hum
So now the truck is rollin' on the new steels up front and the poopy old ones at the back. Looks silly, but it'll have to stay like that till next week.
