This Cortina was featured in January 2011 issue of retro ford but had a 220bhp turbo pinto but this has been removed, but the car keeps the full spec of other parts listed in the article.
The car now has a std pinto with a sierra 5 speed fitted.
Many new parts have been fitted since the swap and it runs very well as I drive it everyday to work.
The engine has had a new head gasket, new high pressure high volume oil pump fitted and new sump seals, new timing Belt, new Spray bar, new Cap, rotor arm, points and condenser.
The car also has:
A new Battery in the boot
Ashley Exhaust manifold and system
Airtec alloy rad with electric fan
Electric fuel pump and regulators
Samco water hoses
Oil Cooler
New brake servo and uprated master cylinder
Stainless steel brake pipes
Rear disc conversion with bias valve
New 2.8 capri calipers and discs with mintex pads
Fully polybushed with superflex
Modified rear void arms
Lowered 2" on sports springs
front and rear GAZ shocks
Mexico steel wheels
The interior is standard apart from the Sony CD player and the Volt, Oil pressure and water temperature gauges.
The car is solid and since ive owned it I have had the front wings replaced and small sections of the floor welded. It was Zeebarted from new so it is clean in all the right areas but I have cleaned sealed and painted the underneath so no issues with corrosion.
All the pumps and swirl pots are in place if you want to convert it back to injection.
