Ellie ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) it came into superbeetles in colchester essex at least 5 years ago via the man who owns wolfrace wheels (the company) the guy loved his dubs and was south african I think hence he brought a few vw`s back every now and then. pretty sure he bought this for his daughter but had it restored over there as it was cheaper. when it turned up it looked stunning and freshly done including the interior but when we run it for mot the guys over there hadnt done the welding underneath or something like that. I never worked on it personally but remember the deck lid and interior straight away and its age, probably even drove it into the workshop a few times at night. where did you buy it from? I see its sporting a bus barn sticker so guess it stayed local for a while?

I'm postponing the dellortos going on to sort that properly but hopefully won't be too long away, just gotta get saving! I brought it just nearly 2 years ago now from a guy in Suffolk, think he'd brought it not too long before. Its currently getting some work done at Auto Impressions in Reading, went up there yesterday and its looking really good, getting it mot ready for now before sending it back to him for a full resto when ive got the money together!!

That looks cool ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Though I'd remove some of the extra doodads if it was mine. Love the simple but really clean interior. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

What's with the louvres on the engine lid. Are they custom ones or were they a feature of SA beetles?
