surplus to requirements is this 1994 fiat cinquecento in red with only 34203 miles not been round once already so genuine mot certs prove this. sold as spares or repair due to no mot or tax. I brought this car from a family friend that was his mothers it was then passed onto his son who used it as his first car. I brought it when the headgasket had gone this was due to corrosion in the head blocking the coolant channels since then I have done.
- headgasket- head had a skim all gaskets replaced (head gasket, rocker, manifold exhaust etc) new head bolts.
- oil and filter
- fuel filter
- spark plugs
- ht leads
- coolant replace- could still need checking through and bleeding
I then took it for an mot 03/12/09 and it failed on the following
offside rear mechanical brake component has restricted free movement
nearside front headlight aim
offside front headlight aim
the advisories were
offside and nearside brake discs slightly scored
I have freed the offside rear mechanical brake component the hanbrake lever had rusted this has since been striped down and regreased. I havent touched the rest however the aim the mot tester usually does so should fly through the mot (only my opinion I will not be moting it for the buyer) but don't have the time. body work wise its not too bad for a 16 yr old car. there are a few dings and chips some have been painted (see pics) others the paint hasnt broken and isnt really noticeable. one of the roof trims at the front has lifted so needs to be glued back in place. someone has tried to pull the door tops so these are slightly bent (see photos). the drivers seat bolster has worn down to the foam. the rest of the interior is generally very clean. it comes with two original accessory mats. and original radio (which pulls out) although the aerial outside has been snapped off so needs replacing. I do have the rear badges I took them off to clean beneath them but these are in the car and just need reattaching. the car starts first time the gears are reasonably smooth (these gearboxes are always notchy) the clutch is ok so are the brakes but may have surface corrosion due to it sitting and the handbrake could need adjusting. there is no rust on this car apart from surface that is on components such as arms etc as you would expect. I have the original manuals in the original document holder and has quite a lot of service history but don't have anything for the headgasket but will write it down what I have done. I have the v5.
the engine management light is permanently on. although the emissions is fine and runs fine although slightly high revs on startup but settles down within a minute or two.not too sure what the cause of this is needs to have a diagnostic check to see which sensor is causing it the drivers side rear light unit although working fine should really be replaced one of the mounting lugs has broken meaning it is not sitting flush with the bodywork but still secure. I have recently put the plates back on these are the original dealer supplied plates. please bear in mind that this car has been sitting the handbrake is off, in gear and is started and moved occasionally. the clutch may need replacing soon as it is starting to get stiff and the clutch pedal is just below the brake pedal
I can take parts off of my other car if needed I.e the aerial. and would be willing to sell any parts off of this if the buyer wants any.
