Well ive spent the last couple of days at uni on a lathe taking chunks out of my billet blower pulley! Its dropped from 1500g down to 450g, a bit less inertia! Ive had plenty of trouble with it acting like a bell and vibrating, unfortunatly it left chatter marks from the tool on a few of the surfaces So the next task is to take a few finishing cuts with a fresh tool. Here are some pictures of the pulley Before - And now - So i still have plenty to do, the other pulley needs to be machined to fit the crank pulley, then theres the intake manifold, injection, fuel system, and front radiator. Lots and lots to do, and not much time before CARS J

Impressive, is annodising still in fashion?
I never know when to stop on a lathe.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Very impressive indeed
Note for reanimation "when you are taking chunks out of the chuck you have gone to far"

Good work! Keep at it, can't wait to see this finished Impressive, is annodising still in fashion? I was reading about DIY anodizing a while back. Tub of battery acid, some food colouring and a bit of electrickery... sorted! If that's your thing.

home anodizing sounds like fun, i may have to try this on a scrap bit of ally.
Those chatter marks have really p[issed me off, I'm not too sure how to fix it either. I don't really want to take any more off of the the front face, and make it too thin, balls!

don't worry about the chatter marks. Id just use some emery/wet'n'dry/scotchbrite etc and polish it up.. If you attempt anodising you have to have mirror finish on it so better get started!

dom, you legend, thats some good logic!
I shall try that next time i go in, i think ill use bluetack as i have some of that already.
I thought you could anodise onto a machined finish, I'm sure the seat posts i used to make at USE were anodised on to machined. Only the suspension ones though, the rigid ones were polished then anodised.
cheers
