Evening,
iv been looking for a car to replace my daily derv for about... ooh a couple of weeks when this little gem popped up, an alfa romeo alfasud.
now originally I was looking at getting an mx5 as you can pick them up for a pretty good price at the moment so I started scanning ebay/pistonheads/on here and a few other sites, but when this came along I literally couldnt stop looking at it, I thought it looked immense plus id never seen one before! I spoke to kris (badpanel on here) asked a few questions/background info on the car, what hed done and what it needed etc. and as he didnt live exactly far away we arranged for me to come look at it with the ole boy. needless to say I loved it, left a deposit and later came back on wednesday to pick it up.
Iv never had an alfa before but I know my cars and know there is a few little jobs that need doing and I'm quite capable of sorting them out, it really doesnt need much which I'm happy to say. kris has done quite a bit of work already to it such as
fit twin 36 dellortos
fit heads to suit
lowered suspension
de-bumper it
de-wipered
fit alloys
and a few other little bits and pieces. now I plan to carry on with what he was doing so my plans are,
fit a full uprated exhaust system
get the carbs setup professional on a rolling road
sort the suspension as it is pretty stiff! even though the single bucket seat does take a lot of the harshness out of it id like to get some coilovers on it and drop it some more
smooth the rest of the bodywork and get it fully resprayed
fit some wider wheels
not that much to do really. as regard paint job it is a bit sketchy atm but I was thinking to just temp make it a bit more pleasing to the eye I was thinking about rattle can matt red for the time being, what do you think?
thanks for looking
dave
