*sob* and all my memories of my lovely green MR2 come flooding back - wonder if it's still about (R627 HCK, sold for a bargain price not much more than the Kenwood ICE in it!)  I'm open to offers on this - got a new C3 Airdream coming to replace the C6 and also bought a 74K miles Fiesta Quartz for my gf to drive (amazing little car, looks great inside, appears to be dissolving on the passenger side though - are Fiesta Mk 3 sills relatively easy/cheap to replace or do I just let it gradually disappear before MOT time? Only cost a whisker over scrap value anyway). Swaps and pxs will be considered naturally. Also Hi! |

Well, I will get a fair bit of stick for it being an auto, but what do you reckon (roughly, I'm not messing about) it'll need to be MOTd again? I see T-bars. I can see myself being a bit more prepared to tinker now I have a warm garage instead of the exposed, unpleasant gravel driveway my last MR2 had to endure Welding's my Achilles heel. I can tinker with most other bits and did a fair bit on my Seras, so I'm partial to Toyotas as you know! |

No welding Richard, at least not to my knowledge, the last time I was underneath it I was very pleasantly surprised by the above average condition. It was involved in a prang, (front drivers wing), before my ownership, I replaced the wing myself and had the car aligned at the place I worked at (Norwich Union Solus Repair Centre), its drives very straight indeed. It might need the rear discs cleaned again and I would recommend new discs and pads on the front, it will probably need new handbrake cables as I freed them off for its last MOT. It would need a service, probably a new battery, it has brand new avons on the front (less than a thousand miles on them), good tread on the rears (can't remember the make). Yes it is a T-Bar model, has the bags for roof glass. As I said it has been sat for a year, but at last fire up it sounded as sweet as usual, I can't remember the mileage but I know its not mad. Have a think feller.

Don't really need to think too hard - ideally I need to sell the Jeep, but the MR2 looks like an excellent diversion. How soon, and if you're heading in Notts direction with the Jeep dubmodder on here is around there and was asking about a Golf tailgate I've got kicking around, so that might be useful somewhere along the line...

I think it would be a good idea to meet up, then you can have a look at the car and vice versa. Its actually at my lady friends place, but I'm not due up there until not this weekend but the weekend after at the earliest. I'm broke, just started a new job (back on the spanners again but mainly motorcycles) and my present runaround has two knackered drive shafts that are in the most dire need of replacement. Got to do those before I venture that far  It would be no problem at all to drop off the tailgate, it would be my pleasure |

Ah... the weekend after, I'm heading out of the country - only for a week but then the Jeep's tax will have expired. Do you have anyone down here who could look over the Jeep for you?

Hopefully it'll find a home - tbh, I just don't want it to be getting close to MOT-time, having to retax it before then and not having time to deal with the car - which it sounds like it would be.

Lowered, had new rear discs, pads 14 moths ago but it has been sat doing nothing for a year, only occasionally being moved about.
