Howdy,
The Story
I visited my local garage earlier this week and a car I had seen there a few times before was back again, albeit looking a little sorry for itself now sat to one side. I had poked around it before before so knew a little about it and did really like it, asking the owner of the garage why it was in was told it had a possible head gasket failure as it had over heated on the motorway with the previous owner, who when quoted for a new gasket did not want to pay for the work to be done. It was sold to the garage and the now owner had planned to fix it up for his daughter, but she could not get insured on it so that plan was abandoned and the car left.
This was a few months back now and it had sat since, (Enter Me) upon finding out what had happened I found out how much had been paid and offered to take it, the garage owner only wanted what he had paid for it, a deal was done and it was towed to my drive earlier this evening.
Any way enough talk here's some pictures.
now for where it gets interesting
It has among other things a Greddy turbo conversion
other extras include;
Mazdaspeed Rollbar
Mazdaspeed Sideskirts
Garage Vary Carbon/FRP Roof
Zoom Petrol Filler Cap
Cusco Oil Cooler and Rad Cooling Plate
Sparco Wheels
Greddy Boost, Oil/Water Temp Gauges
the fun will begin tomorrow when I strip it down, I have discovered a hole in the radiator so I will be requiring one of them in the near future, I also need a passenger side light cover and a set of front indicators, a stock steering wheel would also be a bonus.
Here is a quick picture of my other car.
A rare Autech Edition Pulsar
I now know the reason why it had overheated and kept cutting out...... no belt on the water pump/alternator  must have snapped and come off literally cannot believe my luck, did a compression check too and its near perfect on all 4
I found this stamped on the roof frame
its full of surprises this car.
few pictures from saturday
Today I stripped out the carpet which was pretty wet, have now vacuumed all the carpets and seats, will wet vac them tomorrow hopefully removing the musty smell that is present in the car, ground back a bit of rust I found under the carpet and treated/painted it, then went in search of the drain holes under the roof, which were both blocked full of mud and one had a bolt in it, shoved the hose pipe down them and blasted down, hopefully will have cleaned them out suitably.
The roof also needs re-stitching in a couple of places luckily I have someone who can do this for meh
have begun cleaning bits around the car, removed the rear lights and cleaned out quite a bit of mud that had built up.
once I have a rad hose the car should fire up and be ready to drive, I'm setting about removing all the cheap braided hosing that has found its way into the engine bay.
someones offered me a grand for it..
I'm in two minds though the breadvan needs to come off the road indefinitely so could do with something to drive round in during that time....
just washed the seats and most of the carpets..
Drivers seat
Passenger seat
I started on the main carpet but it foam up straight away so it seems someone else has tried to clean it at some point, so took it out in the rain and hosed it down, was brown the scum coming out of them.
