Model: Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 4x4
Year: 1992
Mileage: 155k
Tax: no
MOT: end June 2011
Location: Uppingham (Northants)
Price: £575 495
This has been owned by me & my family for over 10 years, but it's no longer needed and will be quite missed .
It's an 8 valve 4x4, which is a very rare model with 102 surviving according to 2010 figures. Like most it got professionally converted to 2wd when fairly new, after the transfer box broke. So it's now got the conventional FWD powertrain: 115bhp C20NE with F16 'box, and no prop or rear diff / shafts.
Being a 4x4 though it has the superior independant rear suspension that was only used in 4x4 / GSi / Turbo models.
It could be converted back to 4x4 using Calibra bits - same floorpan and components.
It's in pretty good order all round and was doing 600 miles a week recently. It's immediately useable and quite presentable.
Good bits:
Bad bits:
Nothing significant to be honest. Front tyres aren't brilliant; (factory) stereo needs de-coding; LH interior screen pillar trim is torn; bolster wear on driver's seat - but not that bad; a couple of bars in the rear demister don't work; central locking locks-unlocks-locks if the car isn't on level ground; no boot carpet; heater blower motor is a bit squeaky.
Available for viewing in Uppingham in Northants.

Good bits:
- No rust - I very carefully replaced the rear inner / outer arches some years ago, and only rusty bit now is a small hole in the boot floor that it passed an MOT with this year. Cavaliers without rusty arches are few and far between...
- Sports seats with twin lumbar adjust
- Rear discs
- Factory sunroof and rear spoiler
- Towbar (I recently used it to tow a car & trailer 400 miles and it did this without missing a beat)
- Vauxhall dealer floor mats
- Front half of the exhaust is new and a new back box is supplied
- Engine & gearbox oil change 500 miles ago
