For Sale my 1999 (T reg) B5 Estate SE TDI (AFN 110 BHP) in Blue Anthracite (LC7V)
Full Service History - regular annual/10,000 mile service stamps.
Best car I've owned and gives superb MPG - genuine mid 50's under normal driving.
Body work is in good condition - it has one mark on the lower rear valance black plastic (looks like a towbar touch) and a few scrapes on the lower front valance black plastic.
The paint is good, no rust, no dinks in the sides (I park miles away from the shops!), but there is an ever so small dink in the tailgate near the number plate trim - you can only see it in a certain light and wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it. There is a small paint repair (I think) on the drivers door, just below the window - I've not given it a decent polish to see whether it would improve it though.
I bought the car in November 2008 after taking ages to find the right one. It was on 72,000 miles with almost all main dealer service history. I've added over 50, 000 miles and haven't had any mechanical issues.
It's a great car for long journeys with the kids, but is my daily that I use for work and also has been pressed into service moving various things for friends and relations.
It's been regularly serviced and just had the cambelt and waterpump replaced at Inchape VW Shrewsbury in November 2010 (I did plan to keep it!), it also had a recent oil and filter change - local independant
Since I've had it I've added...
Largo 17" Alloys and Goodyear tyres.
New brakes all round - front and rear discs, front and rear pads, goodridge hoses and brake fluid change Nov 2009
(This included brand new caliper carriers to upgrade the fronts to 312mm discs)
New Rear bushes
FK dark Angel eye projectors (including indicators) and upgraded hi-beam bulbs - Phillips Blue Vision bulbs
(Or original lights if preferred)
OEM Headlight protectors
4300k HID kit
Smoked side repeaters
Genuine half smoked rear lights
OEM aero wiper upgrade (both genuine B5.5 arms)
THS De-cat, merc MAF and Tuning box fitted by The Phirm
Had the passenger airbag reinstated at Ridgeway VW Newbury £127
B5.5 Sports seats front and rear (rear bench back and bench back sides not yet fitted due to child seats)
Illuminated (red light gate) 5-speed gearknob and black leather gaitor)
Genuine VW Rubber mats
Also included is a set of pressed metal number plates.
Gear knob and gaitor, angel eyes, sunglasses holder, Headlight Protectors, aero wipers and arms, Tuning box, Merc MAF, Bootliner, original pipe with cat, and brand new short shifter are all optional.
The only mechanical issue or fault that I'm aware of is there is a slight (and I mean slight) leak from the radiator...
The VW techie pointed this out whilst doing the cambelt and advised to replace it, I hadn't noticed losing any coolant so went down to look at it - he was very sheepish when I got there and changed tack quickly saying that it wasn't going to get any better and that whilst the front was off it made sense to change it I agreed, but pointed out that it wasn't dangerous, or likely to fail for the foreseeable, and as I was already shelling out 400 quid for the belt and pump change I couldn't afford it at that time so would address it at the next service.

The buyer has the option of the 18's fitted with brand new tyres (bought last month - Chrysler 300c wheels with brand new spigots and wobble bolts) or the 17" Largos on worn Goodyear Excellence tyres 225/45/17 - ideally they want refurbing, but they are quite respectable once cleaned up.
Reason for sale - another Passat on the horizon...
