Life is just too short to be boring and to hurry home to watch Eastenders. Get out there, grab life by the balls and do something amazing - even if it is only amazing to you. I thought the same when I was deciding wether or not to make the Bugrat. The donor car held a lot of memories but bodily was a scrapper and I was really unsure about spending so much money on making a kit car using it's mechanicals. Got thinking about how life is too short ect.,and just about had the money at the time,so I thought, bolox,I'm gonna go for it,even tho as a car the Bugrat is pretty useless in a practical sense. I'm so glad I did cos that car has given me so much pleasure, far more pleasure than saving up for a future that I might not have anyway. Celica V8,I'm so sorry to hear about this tragedy, and I hope that you and everyone close to Rob are coping as well as can be expected. If your posting this awful experience of yours on RR makes just 1 person think about what they are doing in life and makes changes to make themself happier, then you have done the right thing. Thankyou

read a pretty cool quote today that seems right in tune with this thread:
"we don't want to act like adults. anybody who can stay in a state of adolescence will be much better off later on. look at people who are working nine-to-five jobs out of college, and look at professional skateboarders or guys in punk bands, see who's having more fun." [Tom Delonge]
this threads seriously made me consider leaving my job and going for one id actually enjoy. just need to find one now.
at least his death wasnt entirely in vain, it seems to have opened a lot of peoples eyes

Had a similart experiance as my father in law had an incident a couple of years ago which has left him completely paralised. Its not so much about "living every minute" so you feel like you need to be doing 15 hours of bungee jumping each and every day, because I've seen people who are like that, got to cram in as much action at ever point so they never waste a second. But to me thats as bad as the guys on the underground with a mobile in one hand and a PDA in the other resceduling a client review for 8 pm.... Life is well lived if you are mostly happy, and people miss you when you are gone. Also "if the world is not a worser place for your living there"... We can't all acheive great things and if we only do so or try to because we feel we have to then that sucks. Death sucks and 43 is no age at all

Condolences to all involved, it sure does make you think about life in a different way doesn't it?
Tonycocacola - pointed me in the direction of this thread as i missed it first time round, basically i started a post yesterday trying to convince myself that a Lotus Elise is a practical car for work. I knew i would love the car and it would make my 37 hour week at work far more enjoyable but my sensible/boring side of me was telling me/screaming at me 'no'!
But now i'm thinking sod it you only live once and i may aswell joy life now, rather than being sensible and quite frankly bored - if i wait until i'm older and more mature i'll probably bloody struggle to climb in and out of an Elise!
So lets just hope this thread has made everyone think and enjoy life a bit more? while you can?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
