As it says in the headline, just watching the programme wheeler dealers.
Anybody ever seen any of the vehicles advertised?
Or even purchased one of their projects?
Smithy.

Its just you never see any of the cars they "restore" for sale.
And do they come with a certificate of authenticity to say that the car is the one off the programme?

Quite a few have been listed on Pistonheads and/or www.carandclassic.co.uk though obviously the cars have been sold long before they appear on TV.

Loved the Citroen DS though; that car was a honey! Re-aggravated my DS want itch...

Also are the people buying the cars on the show real public or are they paid up actors?
I'd say actors personally myself as I'm never that enthusiastic buying a car and always try and pick some faults even if a cars faultless!

I bid on one recently on e-bay but didn't win it - it was a Discovery. They are sold to real punters - they have done a VW panel van recently which was advertised recently on Volkszone - only stipulation was if you wanted to buy it you had to consent to being filmed. My mate Pete sold them a car a while back - it was a rotten beetle which they turned into a beach buggy The sale price just covered the parts, but the hundreds of hours labour was free

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

Same with most of them, the hours Ed puts in and the sale price gives them about £200 profit on just the parts. Also have to laugh with the parts that are swapped/px'd. Porsche wheels springs to mind

I'd say actors personally myself as I'm never that enthusiastic buying a car and always try and pick some faults even if a cars faultless! Can't remember which car it was but on one of the early episodes I decided it was Mike's wife masquerading as the buyer. The conversation went along the lines of 'it'll be dead easy for you to keep clean love' and her response was 'oh no, you'll be cleaning it'. We musn't forget that they get paid to make the programme so probably aren't too bothered about profit and any labour costs. Whatever, as long as our kind of cars keep on appearing in a prime-time slot I'm happy.

A friend of mine bought the 205 gti. Interestingly though the previous owner on the logbook was the production company. I'm not sure about all of them but this one was a bogus buyer. A member of the production crew i think it was

loved the Volvo P1800... as has been said before if you had to pay for the tools/workshop/labour i don't think there is a single car they have done that they would have made any money on in the real world!

I do find it amusing when people spout the standard line about not factoring in labour in their costs. How many of you have got cars sat on your drive which owe you far more than you would ever recoup if you sold up, not taking labour into account?
They keep a small number of old cars going and might encourage a few people to get out in the garage and do a bit. Yes you can pick holes in the "plot" (as you can with American Hot Rod or American Chopper) but it has to be better than watching I'm a love jungle jungle celebrity X factor.

I watched one of the first episodes with the green mini, replacing half an a panel, and one shot had a crusty scuttle corner and the next time you see it it's been primed up, which looked like a filler bodge to me, never bothered with any after that.
