all the welding is now done hope to have most of the body work done tomorrow one big stumbling block on getting a good finish is the amount of times the car has had resprays not normally a major problem but the respray this car has had have been less than adequate quality jobs and one over the other at that with very little or no prep resulting in a totally porous finish that's covered in micro blisters. so i have decided to strip the 8 resprays and start again with one decent one. not a job i would normally do for a budget paint job but its actually less work that trying to make good the base that's on the car plus it will sharpen up the bodylines of the car. the little spots in the picture are micro blisters little bubles that hold water against the body of the car through the paint if left this is the quickest way to make a car rot : as you can see in this pic there a fair few coats of paint on the old girl but if you look closely at the different coats of paint you can see the way the primer coats have broken up due to bad prep work also the original paint job looks to also have micro blisters blistered paint is porous and will break up unless sealed causing an unstable base for any other paint hence why all the subsequent paint jobs that have been done have not held up:

Nice to see a four eyed fox getting some love...
Plenty to keep you busy there! I'm sure the result will be as stunning as always..
what colour's it going to be getting?

The Internet, like all tools, if used improperly, can make a complete bo**cks of even the simplest jobs...

As Ed said, nice to see a 4-eye getting done. I reckon these look ace in the notchback.

Looking good , have to say I much prefer the look of the nosecone with 4x headlamps. The later rounded ones look a little soft and dare I say it , very "Granada Scorpio-esque" (facelift model). Like I say , much prefer the look you are going for.

my 3 year old daughter is pointing and saying "you should buy that Daddy". Doesn't get that *some*of the cars on the internet are not for sale ads!
