Right, firstly Merry Christmas. The other week my and my mate acquired our selfs a luck-up/unit!! its 2min walk awy from work and about 5 min drive from my house!!! so its perfect. Got running water, electric (on a meter) a huge RSJ with a sort of engine lift that slides along it from wall to wall which is going to be mega handy with project cars. havent got any pictures of how it was first when we got the keys. These pictures of from it when it was have finished and all finished. enjoy!!  little bit of a damp problem on this corner but that was from a 2foot square holle in the front wall as the building use to be an old smoke house for the docks.    mate paint out the floor on the bottom half, after he did half, we realised that we left one of the light switchs on a couldnt get to it due to the wet floor haha so we had to leave it over night with the meter running.   front door  moving in!!!!!   my engine build still in boxes from been dropped off at the unit.  fixing my daily, and my mates Cosworth tucked up ready for a refurb    |

It's a bit hard to work out exactly how big this place is from the pics, how many cars can you store at once?
It looks really good, something many of us would love to have, (excluding those lucky enough to already have a workshop).

yeah i couldnt really posistion my self too great for taking the pictures. but it can store up to 4 decent sized cars but if you wanted room to work around them 3 cars, we have had my mates van in (a renualt traffic van long wheel base, similar to a transit) my vw passat easte and my mates Cosworth all in there at once with load of room to move about in. Its plenty big enough for us atm. My passat is now back at home so there is only the van and the cosworth down there at the mo. I'm on the hunt for a mk2/3 polo for my superchaged polo project, so with that in there is lloooaaadddsss of room still.
we plan to move to a bigger place in about a years time, so we can store quite a few vehicles.

cool unit mate i going to get one in 2011 but finding one is hard for reasonable money .

Room for 3 vehicles plus space to work round them is great for a first place, if you had more room then it would only eventually fill up with more projects than you can reasonably manage. As long as you have space for canteen facilities, ie microwave and kettle along with a sofa of some description, I wouldn't rush to find something bigger personally.

As long as you have space for canteen facilities, ie microwave and kettle along with a sofa of some description, I wouldn't rush to find something bigger personally. yeah the canteen only has a Kettle so far ha, and a docking station for the ipod. the seating consists of my old front seats out of my passat, bloody comfy though!!! |
