I was just wondering if anyone has ever supercharged a xflow? I am probably going to buy and rebuild a 1600 XR2 Xflow next year to put into my Fiesta after deciding that just tuning my 1100 will work out too expensive to get anywhere near the same power. But one idea that my dad said has stuck with me. He suggested adding the supercharger from a mini cooper S to my 1100 for a laugh for a few thousand miles before it burnt holes in all the pistons. But has anyone ever fitted any supercharger to an Xflow? The more I have thought about it, the more I think it would be a cool idea. I have always loved the whine of a supercharger and the little lag that you get with them compared to turbos. Does anyone have any ideas on how it could be done?
I have heard that someone on this forum supercharged an xflow mk1 Fiesta, but if anyone has any idea on what supercharger to use or any thing else then that would be great.

Will have a look at that in a moment. Is currently sat in the Fiesta so that I would have something to read on the motorway verge if it broke down on a recent 200 mile round trip.

I will buy the latest edition of PPC on Tuesday when I am back at work. To be honest, I don't even know the basics of fitting a supercharger. I know it is driven by the engine and generally requires to be belt driven. That you can get Roote superchargers and Screw? Superchargers, but I don't really know the difference and that it should go between the carb and the inlet manifold. Otherwise; Not a clue. But everything so far on my Fiesta has been a learnign process, and I do enjoy a challenge.

I got the latest issue of PPC today. Have had a quick look through it and I guess that the article you lot were talking about was the one on the Westfield. The info on the engine is minimal as it just describes test mounting it. Was there/does anyone remember if in an earlier issue he built the supercharged xflow?

The build feature had about 10 parts. they could have done it in 5.

Or less. One issue was about making a coil bracket from a piece of angled aluminium. Zzzz.
IMHO a mini blower will be too big for a 1100 crossflow.

^ Sounds like a hen's tooth would be easier to find!
I like the sound of a little supercharged micra though! Perhaps that requires a thread of it's own!

Baby eatons can be found on the VW 1.4 TSI engines if I remember right.
However the M45 from the BMW mini seems to be run successfully on 1275cc a-series engines all the time, and I've seen one or two on the 998's in the past, so I can't see it being too bad a choice.

I'm no longer planning on doing this to my 1100, would be upgrading to a 1600 crossflow from a mk1 XR2 and keep my 1100 spare incase the 1600 dies an explosive death with a blower attached. A mini Cooper S is a 1600? SO should be roughly right with the right mods done to the engine. Any other ideas?
