retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=FSW&thread=89897&page=1#1164123I got this about 2 months ago and had the carbs set up properly and started using it. it is a great car and I love driving it however, I have ended up using it for work (50 miles per day) and its a bit heavy on petrol for this so I have decided to try and sell it, I would also be interested in a swap for a smaller classic with MOT. the Rover has MOT until 22/07/2011 and is taxed until next week (i will probably have to tax it if I don't get a little car before then). its got 45000 miles on it and the only faults are a small chip in the windscreen and the c/l on the passenger door locks but doesnt unlock and the boot only locks/unlocks on the c/l because theres a key snapped off inside the lock, the interior is in lovely condidtion and the body polishes up very nice with just a few small rust bubbles on the lower doors. I have covered 1500 miles in this car in 7 weeks and its been brilliant! I hope the above link to the original thread works because I don't have a camera to take new pictures! any questions please contact, thanks Joe

thanks for the offers of swaps guys but the Cav's a bit too new for me and the Viva's a bit modded.... i have too many cars to worry about insurance issues so need a swap thats over 25 yrs old and as near to standard as possible so it con go straight onto an existing classic policy

Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

My Rover is in Daily use and ideal for your purposes. I had the same insurance problems as you when I 'went modern' and they honoured the No Claims Bonus with an introductory 30% or similar. That's the biggest chunk then.
