not posted for a while, but a short update on our 1962 a40 farina, those who may remember we spent about a grand to build a new chassis, scimitar axle, magnum front, and a 30 quid ebay rover v8, that we got to run a 13.8 at the hot rod drags, bigger and better for next year, so the evolution a40 was born.... warming the tyres, rover v8 power..... new for 2011, 383 chrysler big block, has cam, headers, edelbrock, msd, holley dp, 906 heads, 3000rpm stall converter, torqueflite trans, should be a tad quicker........ a new front cage with font struts has gone in, competition engineering motor plates, and slicks should see the lightweight a40 run some good times on the strip ;D

Back in the late 80's I used to buy cheap Farinas and smoke about in them till they died. Great fun. Good to see this one being put to good use.

Very, very nice mate. What power are you expecting from the new 383? With the excellent power to weight ratio and the slicks I reckon that's got to get you into the low 11's if not better? Have you got anymore pics you can put up, looks a superb project. If you follow in Mitsubishi's footsteps, by the time you get to Evo 10 it'll be nigh on a top fuel dragster!

we saw a similar set up for a jensen interceptor 383, it made 448hp on the dyno.........and we went 13.8 with around 160hp, il try and link the original build thread on here, but I'm a bumbass with the pc. the a40 is actually my sons, started building it when he was 17, ive helped along the way though. be nice to go 11s, it has locked diff and 4 bar, so does dig in nice off the line

Hoping to dip into the tens with some nitrous, aslong as the rear end is set up alright!
