Apparently they go to Africa because they'r so solid and cope very well with bad roads How are they rust wise? This is my biggest concern... Yeaa well East Africa pugs used to be the thing back in the day i mean 90s and early 2000. Every used one got shipped there they were popular and like battle ships took anything that was thrown at them. But, these days it's changed there as well its all about J cars. you will still find the odd few rolling about being used as taxis lol love them to bits, perhaps because I was brought up whilst these were in demand.

This might explain why there are so few for sale... Can't find many over here; maybe 18-20.

The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single coffee.
I don't like coffee!

This is my old STi. Loved it to bits, but it had to go because at the time I needed something more modern for work. Also my wife hated it.

mine has a small bit of rust where the wing meets the inner wing, just behind the right head light, but because of how long the bonnet is it doesn't cause any issues with MR MOT, if your really looking for one mine could be for sale for the right amount of pennies.... Dang dude, me wants one of these real bad - what model is yours? mines a GRD, ex taxi 180,000 miles on the clock, runs strong as hell just burns alot of oil!! hahaha but looks the tits driving down the road... I'm sure i have a rolling shot of it some where.... ill look...

How cool was the Slater 505? Shame he's rarely on here these days...hopefully he'll be back on to show us his Ital van when it's done. He's not the only RRer to build a cool big Pug though: Stand up Mr Retrohomeslice Why was I not made aware of this!??! This is awesomesauce!

My dad had a metallic green 505STI. He bought it new in 1979 and kept it until 1981. I remember going to a launch party for it in Saumur as a kid. The 505 was brand new and everyone was very excited since the 504 was so well regarded - the TI was seen almost as a BMW. It was a lovely looking car but it was truly horribly unreliable. The thing would never start when hot and when he sold it at two years old it had rust holes in it!
I still like them though, not because of nostalgia but because they are so pretty. They drive well too, with good handling and a superb ride. Later cars are avalable with a 2.8 litre V6 too and can be fast.
One unusual feature is the sprung side light/indicator lenses so you can have a small bump and not break them.
Nice cars!

That grey one with black wheels looks superb! Also like the bright-ish green one.
Cheers, Jan
