I had a dream the other night that Slater's Boso 505 (as pictured above) was actually an estate, and it was parked on a plinth a little like the one the indestructible Hilux is parked on on Top Gear, in the corner of my workshop at work. In front of the fire exit in fact.
Make of that what you will.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

How cool was the Slater 505? Shame he's rarely on here these days...hopefully he'll be back on to show us his Ital van when it's done. He's not the only RRer to build a cool big Pug though: Stand up Mr Retrohomeslice

Back in the day my uncle had a 505 gtd, was a 2.2 I think. Damn that thing rattled but it hauled ass much quicker than my old man's 2.0 Carlton. Didn't realise they were rwd..I'm off to eBay.

Have a p1ss poor shot off my phone from that meet. By FAR the coolest car there, including the rather tasty Nova that was parked opposite!

Here's me in a 505 Turbo in IMSA Endurance racing trim, daytime: Here's me again in same at night, same race, same corner (facing other way through the downtown Columbus intersection): Rockets in the straights. Clouseau handling in the turns. The enduros in Canada were fun when the Frenchies set up a cheering section for us. Lots of krazee stories driving these, patching them, dealing with Peugeot Sport (we won a lot of contingency money), dicing with the field, and all manner of nutty stuff in IMSA during the '80s. Norm PS, Oh, yes, here I am "STREET RACING" through the Capitol City of the State of OHIO! Come and arrest me, lol.

Daddy Damaged's '85 505 GTD Somewhere between 250-300k on it now, it's pulled car trailers all over the UK loaded with all manner of tat. Still sits on the motorway at 85 all day, doing 50mpg....and flys through the MOT every year with no probs. Awesome machine.

Saw this (very solid) looking 505 in France in September Peugeot 505 by Mr Lobster, on Flickr Really like these. They all seem to end up going to Africa though.

Apparently they go to Africa because they'r so solid and cope very well with bad roads How are they rust wise? This is my biggest concern...

mine has a small bit of rust where the wing meets the inner wing, just behind the right head light, but because of how long the bonnet is it doesn't cause any issues with MR MOT, if your really looking for one mine could be for sale for the right amount of pennies....
