Are there any, its not very easy to tell from suppliers listings. I'm looking for some because I want some slightly wider tyres to put on my 8" wide wheels than the 165/55s that I had sort of planned, and that will eventually be on the front. I also really dislike the look of tyres with the rim protector stretch away from the rim. It would also help even up the ammount of stretch front to rear, and the rear stretch to a more reasonable ammount.

If you do 165/55 on the front and 175/50 on the rear the rear tyres will be shorter (lower profile) so might look a bit wrong?

A 165/55 13 tyre is 7mm taller than a 175/50 13 tyre. The 175/50 13 tyre will be stretched more, so will look even shorter.

What do you reckon Matt? I've seen polos with 175/50 at the rear ans 165/55 at the front, they didn't look noticably different. I really like the 7's with 165/55. 175/60's looked pretty good but are obviously much taller. 195/45s might look about the same stretch wise but are pretty much unobtainium - so I've heard.

The BF goodrich tyres i had on the polo didnt have a rim protector, but they werent THAT stretched on 8s: I'm not sure if they're still available.

I'm not sure really, might be worth seeing if you can pick up some 175/50s cheap and see what they look like.

Continental is the only maker doing that size, (as far as i know) Camskill tyres have them in stock. camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s4432p0Recently got a set for my Polo to replace the worn out 175/50's, mounted on 7x13 rims so no stretch (not into stretch anyway) but would probably be a bit stretched on an 8

pommy chaps, where does one get a hold of 175/50/13's?
here in aus you can still get 13 in tyres, but either in stuff with a really high sidewall (like a 65 or a 70) or a 205/50/13 - but that's too wide for me and it will strain the front end (and stuff up the front guards. Anywhere I can buy tyres from online and have them shipped to Australia?
