hmm I thought you where making your own adjustable coilovers, just checked the other forum, i think i remember your name from the toyota chaser gx71. The carina is finally getting some well deserved tlc from it's current owner. I had some contact with him a month after i sold it, he welded up the exhaust, cleared al the broken glass from the heating mechanism etc. not sure if the 5-speed is fitted though. It's a small world he olso knows the JBF drifting team who basically made the rekord as it is today (except it's lower now...)

ok i'm gonne rename the first post, cause I don't really feel like making a new thread for every car... I currently own three, but really only work on one at a time, till it is finished so i'll keep you updated here.... next to the daily driver rekord I own a opel kadett c1 estate, it has a 2.0s engine that I equipped with the injection of a 2.0e. fitted a 1900 cam for a little more power in de higher rpm and a electronic ignition. also fitted a group A (63mm) stainless steel exhaust. it is awaiting its turn to get modified, I'm hoping to fit a mazda 13b singe turbo engine in it someday.. more on this car later... now working on my other kadett c, a kadett c2 2door saloon. it started life as a 1.2 automatic, I bought it as to use as a daily, but just couldn't stand that it was so high on its wheels.... so I decided it was time to get it lower... I got together with a friend and if it's worth doing, it's worth over doing... so the result... don't mind the diesel engine sound.... it's a petrol engine... but not a good one it's already out, the car is now in "restoration" I started to teach myself to weld on it, think i'll re do some work this winter... still need to weld up the tunnel and a lot of braces.. i'm replacing the 1.2 automatic with a 1.8 on double twin dell ortho carbs and a 4 speed transmission with a 3.44 rear axle from a ascona/manta a 1900 automatic.. I didn't want to use a c20xe as everybody already does that and I like to look of a 8v more.. I chose a 1.8 instead of a 2L because they can handle a little more revs, and have the biggest valves, it's a c18nz (monopoint injection) the head is already modified with big inlets.. it is now fitted with a 20seh cam, but hasn't run with it, so not sure if that would be the best stock cam for it... it not, i'll just get a nice sports camshaft.. when all the technical stuff is done I going for a hawaii tiki style for the ex/in-terior when finished it will be my daily non-work car and sound a little like this:

What have you done to get it so low, just shorter springs and dampers, and removed the stoppers? I like! Have 18 old Opels myself, haha!

Owning just three Opels makes you almost normal keeping em all in one thread is fine ;D

haha, if i had the time/money and room to have more... i would buy everything, and only build "weird" projects (it's not real common here to build a non opel engine in a opel) but i guess that is what most people here think..
it's lowered on cut springs and shorter dampers, on the rear you can use dampers of a corsa (nova) a. on the front i believe i bought a set of modifief vw t3 dampers, but you could also go for lada niva!! they are short as hell, but not at that strong.. (perhaps the koni models are)
the stoppers are most of the time rotten out, of you could just pull them out, and cut a piece of the stopperholder (wouldn't know how to call it) off.
