OK, due to someone being a tit and forgetting to charge his camera last night, there's nowhere near as many photos as I might like here. Also, I've discovered that my cheap, dropped-in-endless-puddles-of-beer digital camera doesn't really do justice to anything that's moving. So, once I've waded through the blurry photos of Ginettas, Imps and Bugattis I'm afraid this is all we're left with: Fibreglass E-Type (with 4x4 turbo nutter curse word cars in the background) The Dialynx car at the back alegedly has 600bhp, and made me go 'HHNNNGGGG'. Avenger, GTV, Chamois. All of these were faster than several Ferraris. (Also, 2 Imps, a Healey, an Elan and a Caterham, if you squint, which were still faster than the Ferraris.). Guilietta MGA Décap Might be a few more to come via email after I turned to my friend's cameraphone in desperation, including the Alfa 90 in the car park for all you obscure Euro-barge pervs...

Typical really, ITV spend millions on Formula 1 curse word, yet what people are really racing and into gets no airtime whatsoever..... Do any of the dedicated Motor Sat channels ever cover this type of stuff?

It was the first one I'd ever been to, but my friend I've been going with has been going for 10 years. It's the course where Top Gear did the barried Peugeot vs. Sprite race last year, and some of the single seaters are silly fast. 1120 yards including two haripins, barely any straights, 38 seconds? The one that had the ex-F1 Judd engine managed to launch itself into the armco after about 7 seconds though, which was a bit of a shame. The good thing about Prescott is that it's the home of the Bugatti owners club, so there were 3 Type 35s racing competitively, which is amazing to see. Here's a rubbish blurry picture: They also invited the Ferrari owners club along, so there were 10 or so of those competing, but I was suprised at how slow they were. The Dino set the second slowest timeof the day (it managed to beat a Sprite, but was beaten by, amongst other things, a Hillman Avenger, 205 GTis and a Rover 220), and even the F355s were only getting times in the low 50s - about the same as an XE/K-Series Caterham. On the other hand, the Imps and Chamois were really quick - only a couple of seconds behind the fastest Ferraris... Edited to say - Richardjn, it was the round of the British championship they were holding there this weekend. There's the Midlands championship at the end of June, but July 22nd/23rd is the one I'd love to go to if I wasn't back in Sussex then, it's the classic and vintage event. Classes for Bugattis, Morgans, Ginettas, Porsches, Healys etc plus a special celebration of Coopers, so I'd assume plenty of period single seaters and Minis.

Ferraris are amusingly slow on the drag strip as well - there's nothing finer than seeing one get soundly beaten by a stock looking bug ;D
It is childish I know, but still exceptionally funny ;D
