Love it, used to have one of these but ran on LPG, kitted the backnout with bench seats over the wheel arches and a mental sound system. Looks better without the trim tho As far as the trim goes it breaks it up a bit and was playing with the idea of red trim, but that look aweful...... how would i go about filling in the holes that the trim would leave? Bench seats are a great idea, I have made a bed in the back, as i often go camping with kayaks/climbing gear loaded up, and as you know the front passenger seat folds down so i have a full length bed when i want it!....in fact i havent updated that yet, so i'll post some photos up later..... sweet, I presume its the rustoleum paint job you speak of ? Yeah rustoleum all the way.....was pointed to this on another thread on here ..... www.lawson-his.co.uk/scripts/products.php?cat=CombiColor#RUSTOLEUMCOMBI%202.5LTRAnd found them to be speedy on delivery and cost effective! I bought the 2.5litre and still have plenty leftover......so a few more coats or repairing some of the shoddy areas a bit more is certainly an option. The finish needs sanding and smoothing, but might be something for another day. Thanks for the feedback, glad its up some peoples street, its certainly unique as far as i can see......and a bit of fun tinkering with it!!!! Rob

Yes, plans afoot of getting it lowered......only have to figure out how to do it.
Springs at the front, so fairly easy......its the torsion bar at the rear I'm unsure of. Me and the bro (who's based in Lincoln!) need some time to figure this out.
Also looked into alloy wheel refurb, around £50 a wheel....could even go for black instead of silver i recon.

Well i have had a bit of time on my hands, and braved the cold and build myself a better bed / storage box for the back of the van! Ideal for the coming spring / summer and climbing / kayaking / camping season! Hurrah! A few pictures of my two afternoons work...... Wanted a more solid base and studier construction. Hinged storage lid, now making use of the wasted space under the bed! Night Mode - Setup as the bed with the front passenger seat down and mattress on top! Mojo is restored and still looking into lowering........

V6 fits, have a look on ebay...
torsion bar lowering is a doddle, drop dampers + support arms at position they have no tension on springs, remove bars, move arms to lower position, refit, fit wheels+lower to ground, win.
you wont be able to go anywhere near as low as pictured though.

like the bed idea... i've just picked up my 2nd partner, in the same (or worse) faded red. great little van, needs a few jobs doing, then i'll be polishing her back to shiny times.
have you done anymore looking at lowering options? i can't seem to find much around.
i know they take 306 springs and the torsion bar is adjustable. but is the partner/berlingo not higher than a 306? so for example a 30mm drop on a 306 would be a lot more on a partner as the van sits higher to begin with? or is the drop equivalent?

If it were mine I'd do this: (Ok so a roof-chop is a bit out of most people's leagues, and not that legal. Looks nice tho.)

That van is ace....although its the car version.....that made no sense!!! I looked at that photo for ages trying to see why I liked it so much, then i scrolled down ready to ask the question and your roof chop comment comes into view......it looks ace! Those steelies need to get banded tho!!! ;D ;D ;D Seriously looking into lowering it now, 40mm springs as soon as pay-day and eBay align correctly this season! like the bed idea... i've just picked up my 2nd partner, in the same (or worse) faded red. great little van, needs a few jobs doing, then i'll be polishing her back to shiny times. have you done anymore looking at lowering options? I can't seem to find much around. Thats a very good question, i think its only the torsion bar that makes the van higher. My thoughts are that if you lower the front springs by 40mm, it runs the same as a 306 so the height will drop 40mm. The torsion bar just needs to be wound down extra to allow it to sit level rather than higher at the back to allow a heavy load.....but my van wont ever really do a heavy load so am going to get it to sit with the front once 40mm springs are fitted.....i.e measure wheelarch to wheel hub/rim and adjust accordingly!!!
