that above is what i call the saab red top lol.
yeh i think it should bolt up as its from the GM family and people use them with F20 FWD boxes etc.
i do like a good LET/XE but the problem with them is they are all old now. and trying to find a good one is near on impossible unless you build one from an aloy block, which is out of your budget and most peoples lol.
i would go for the saab block, something different, pleanty of power. good times

Thanks for the help everyone, the saab idea is very appealing to me, the tuning possibilities are endless and its a bit much to take in.. the 2000cc low blo are 150hp standard..? but with little mods can probuce near 300hp, will this come in budget..? fittin the engine the other way round poses some problems in itslef, fabricating an inlet manifold or modifying the std one is all costly as i cant weld alloy, the sump will need some major work to fit.. a c20let would be a bolt in replacement pretty much, but the saab idea would allways be there niggling away in the back of my mind....hmmm what to do..?!

your sumps gonna be your biggest problem
remember i was running a z20let and i had real problems with balancer shafts
i don't know if the saab engines have these but would be worth checking before you buy

I looked into the Saab engine option for my Ascona but from what I can gather its not an easy job to run them in RWD. Maybe somebody could put me right on this.
Other option for blobbletec is to turbo the XE you already have. Would work out cheaper than buying an LET and other than pistons they are essentialy the same engine.
