I spent a few years getting a lift to work in a white one! Complete with System Porsche stickers. Tinny, unreliable, ugly etc etc - quintessential future retro fodder

Never had any bother with mine being unreliable. Did scrap it in the end like . The rear brake thingy went and it failed its m.o.t and I didn't have the space (I had a mk2 polo coupe S as well). I always remember it fondly

nah they're not. They are unique to the Seat Ibiza/Malaga, designed by Porsche. Inner wings etc are straight from a Fiat Strada, as indeed is the entire platform. So you could bolt a fiat Twin Cam into one without having to fabricate anything. I'd love to see someone do this. It would write over my shonky car memories. How about it qwerty?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

should av kept my big Gob shut! Maybe we'll see. I'm to busy driving my chav saxo looking for a chav nova at the moment. Well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it! I want my first engine conversion to be relatively straight forward which I can't see that being. Wow thats 2 excuses! P.S I'd like to point out my saxo is standard, and I'm looking for a standard nova merit etc with no fibreglass offensiveness stuck to it at all.........................honest

I'm told there's another VAG link besides the Porsche enigne design, in that Giorgetto Guigaro based his design for the mkI Ibiza on his rejected ideas for the mkII Golf, which he changed and updated slightly when he was asked by SEAT to design a similar car for them.
