'K, I have done some research (ie spazzed about in Google for a bit) and now I'm doing the lazy post thing as I have come up blank. First off, where do you buy parts for one in the UK? OK some stuff is just go find the equivalent in the motor factor (spark plug, core plug, battery, fan belt) but what about, I dunno, brake master cylinder, timing chain, whatever. There seems to be nobody admitting to supporting these cars in the UK. Although I can't recall the last time I actually saw one. Next up. Is the Holden V8 in anyway like a Chevy small block? I assumed not and yet I read about people using Chevy bits on them. But is that like people using Chevy stuff on Rovers - IE with adaptors and machined parts? Anyway, some cool Holden stuff

used to have a VS commodore wagon and it was way better than anything vauxhall had to offer even though it was a pretty low spec'ed car went like stink off a stick with its 3.8 ltr V6 and was tough as old boots sold it to incar solutions off here in the end not sure if he still has it

But is that like people using Chevy stuff on Rovers - IE with adaptors and machined parts? I have heard that the Holden V8 was somewhat based on the Oldsmobile small-block so there are some similarities but it's generally a unique engine. The valve angle is quite different to the Chev, and apparently the cylinder banks are staggered in the opposite direction to suit a RHD steering box. I'm not aware of any parts which are actually interchangable.

Omega is 'similar' in parts to the Commodore or Monaro. I noticed when Jeremerey Clarkson reviewed the Vauxhall Monaro, he only ever called it a 'Holden'.

The only Vauxhall part on the Monaro was the badge. Also Clarkspn is a knob.
The Holden links I found were for modern ones only really. The Holden club ones wee either restoration parts or decals etc. And all in Australia.
I'm always amazed we don't see more Aussie cars here. Support seems limited.

Any Holden in particular AK? I'm sure www.rarespares.net.au/ ship internationally but that could get expensive. As for Chev parts in Holden V8s - Chev rods, cranks and pistons can be made to fit the Holden block in various stroker motor configurations.

Something in the HQ and derivative ranges...
American stuff is easy, stateside autos, us automotive, rodley motors etc in the UK or rockauto or a specialist in the us.
Aussie stuff is a mystery.

ah. I'll remember that. However, brakes and sundries will all be unique to Holden still.
What is the stock auto box? Is it Chevy bolt pattern?

I doubt much interchanges. They have vague common ancestry. I also assume you mean the last model Monaro not like a 1978 or wwh
Anyway seems. Modern Holden are covered by a couple of UK specialist. Monaro should be covered b6 Vauxhall anyway as there was a UK version

Yeah my bad I meant modern stuff!! I would hazard a guess older Holden stuff is pretty scarce due to there only being a handful of older Holdens over here....although the Gemini looks awfully similar to its European relations.. I dare say you could get some Corsa parts to fit on the Transam in an ironic chav style ;D
