I started the Osi back in September BC, I´m still "catching up" with the thread so i´m not as quick as this reads at the moment..... Things will slow down a bit in a couple of days once i´ve caught up ;D ^ That makes you older than my gran - still 2010 years of posts covering the catch up should keep me entralled over crimbo - good work for a pensioner ;D

Things will slow down a bit in a couple of days once i´ve caught up ;D ^ That makes you older than my gran - still 2010 years of posts covering the catch up should keep me entralled over crimbo - good work for a pensioner ;D Had to read it twice but got there in the end ;D ;D ;D Nice to see someone tackling a car as far gone as this but you definately seem to be the man for the job, bookmarked! Cheers mate, not got much choice really I was surfing through the internet looking at Osi pictures and found out that there was a bit missing from ours. Hardly surprising really as several bodgers have had a go at it over the years. Originally the Osis had a strengthening plate welded in to support the A post and stop it flexing once the door is open, so I printed off the pic, took it out into the garage and got the anglegrider out... original Ford repair plate Taunus Transit Drivers door I´m not one for throwing out useful stuff and I quite like the idea that my diy repairplates are older than the car itself ;D Zinkplated and primed with Ferpox (primer from "Fertan") Heres the pic I had to go off... not exact but it´s close enough ;D

Top work OB Might not be exact, but it's better than what was there cheers mate, the bit I copied was off a soft top. The coupes looked like this one... and the P7 I chopped it all out of had a similar one but I just fancied making it ;D Kiitos ;D Awesome work, you don't hang around do ya! It´s too cold for that mate Verrrrry good Dave, love the whole repair panel planning, and execution. Just showed your girl, and she just smiled and shook her head in amazement. Cheers Rian and Nicola A 1963 recycled cheesegrater Praise from the master himself, I am honoured ;D ;D Blimey Dave, epic start, this to this We all know you're talented but that is absolutely epic Cheers Pete but that bottom pic is the original, mine´s the bodge in the other pic ;D ;D With the "A" post looking a bit more like it should, I now have something that I can weld the sill too. The outer sill is an original Ford one for a 4 door Taunus P5, to say that these are hard to find is the understatement of the year. I just got kucky ;D Unfortunately, although close they´re not an exact fit, so I had to take a dep breath and chop the sill in half to pursuade it to fit properly. I made the inner sill out of some 2.5mm zinkplated steel panel that I saved from the scrap container at work, I think originally it was the rear wall of an industrial fusebox The reason I need the four door version is that the sill profile on the Osi "carrys on" behind the "B" Post - looks like Ford copied this idea when they built the Capri a couple of years later I´ve had what´s left of the door in and out a hundred times to make sure it´ll all look right once back together, so then I could finally weld it all together and give the car back some of its stability that it lost somewhere back in the 70-s The inner sill is still a bit too large but i´ll trim it back down to size once i´ve taken out the box section rollcage ;D

;D Bejaysus! Balls of steel. I have enjoyed following all of your builds, you most certainly don't do things my half! Good luck with the reconstruction! "reconstruction" is a good description mate, there´s a lot of guessing going on here at the moment. ;D Fantastic work man, very inspiring. I'm so inspired I just got my CO2 bottle refilled!!!! Careful, you´ll be off buying another "hopeless cause" soon Jeeze, the way you are going we will see it in the flesh at awards night ;D 2013 Alan, if i´m lucky mate. The rest of the car is just as bad ;D Time to get the front chassis leg and inner wing in....... Before I welded the wing in, I turned it upside down and let the strut support fill up with rust converter and later some primer - gravity is a big help here. I trail fitted the front axle beam and rechecked all my measurements to make sure it all fits properly and just spot welded it all back in With it all back in and half looking like a car again I zinkpainted and slapped some primer on... and (spray can) primed, just to stop it rusting as it´ll be getting a decent 2K epoxy primer on it once the temperature rises a bit ;D
