Anyone familiar with swapping different servos in different cars? Question: This servo and reservoirs origional bulkhead brackets angle them upwards normally: The angle at which the servo would sit at when bolted to the flat bulkhead can be seen best with this bracket: What would happen if, due to space restrictions, it was mounted on different brackets that mounted it so that it was level? Does it have to be angled up that way to work properly? Is it just the brake fluid reservoir reservoir that needs to be angled, or the whole thing? Hope that made sense Any help or links to info much appreciated

I think, as long as you can change the resevoir, it'll be OK being at a different angle. The other thing I'd watch for is the brake pedal mechanism, but if all that works smoothly enough, I can't see any problems.

Ah right cool! Thats what I thought. The pedal mechanism isnt a prob really as i'll need to alter that anyway. I'm wondering why ford went to the trouble of altering theangle of the system in the first place? Which made me wonder if there was a reason why it was anged like that....

As benzboy says it shouldnt matter which way its mounted as long as you have reservoir that is still capable of supplying fluid to the cylinder.
I think the servo mounting was down to space on MK3 escorts (I presume thats what its off). IIRC it was designed for having the servo sited correctly for LHD drive cars and again I remember a problem with the RS1600i`s getting complaints of poor braking and it was actually a result of bulkhead flex due to the servo being on the opposite side of the car to the pedal and having a badly mounted lever assembly running along the bulkead.

Ace cheers ;D Yeah thats very true about the Escort mk3 brakes, and thats what all this messing about is for, I'm trying to locate the servo on the other side to get rid of the lever assembly, which I think I can do but it involves the servo sitting flat rather than angled So it looks like its just a case of mounting the reservoir so that its flat once i've altered the angle the whole unit sits at, which shouldnt be too difficult I suppose Thanks for your help
