I've just spoken to someone about loom conversion.
He rekons he can do them sub £100 ;D, and he's done a few, at that price it's not really worth the hassle of doing it yourself.
also got a good deal on billet flywheels and adaptor plates, so he tells me.
Rock on...

Hey sounds like its really coming together for you, nice one! Wiring is surely one of the biggest headaches for any conversion.

coming together a lot quicker than I expected to be honest, I think when you start to dig you find people who are willing to do things who may not be in the mainstream, and are therefore a little cheaper My car comes off the road this week to be stripped I think, gotta wait for the logbook to come back so I can claim the tax back, and then free up some more funds

Good stuff! Oh, that reminds me, I spoke to my girlfriends brother about his Legacy 2.2 estate the other day, he said he'd be happy to sell it. It's a H-reg, got about 190k miles on it, runs well but apparently used to use plenty of water so he suspects a possible head gasket required (they have two don't they?). The 4wd, low/high ratio and all that stuff work fine so it may well be useful as a donor car for a VW conversion? Don't think it's MOT'd or Tax'd, not been used in a while but it runs and everything works as far as I know. Anyway, if anyone fancies it drop me a PM and I'll sort something out. Would have to be towed/trailored as a complete car from Cheshire, not interested in breaking it.

Ooh, sounds cool, still tempted by a Subaru conversion on my buggy... Can you reveal your source? Or shall we wait until you've had the work done?

Volvo, Buggy, Discovery and an old tractor.

I'm gonna make the guy's details avaible once I've had my work done.
He's got a ready prepped 2.2 engine and loom with a plate sat there, and I'm very tempted by that, does anyone want my legacy?
