I'd rip his hands off... e30 manual in black will pull a premium.. lagunas that shape have been going through the block for 4/500 quid around here as everyones terrified of the cards failing and other typical french related mishaps
e30 has relatively cheap parts (similar to mk2 golf as mentioned) which are readily available and most repair jobs are diy on it....
do it change the wheels slip a 2.5 in and grin...constantly.. having had an e30 and an mx5 you may find you end up keeping the bm

Go for the E30, once you've driven it your love it and wonder why you even had to ask the question!!

I checked out the ads first and immediately saw those wheels and nearly vommed then I read do you think it's just a 4/500 quid smoker with some gash wheels? I loled, thanks for brightening my evening. Oh, and put the gash rims on devilbay and get some used steels (or even some beemer alloys), it'll be great, allbeit mainly because you won't have a Laguna Of course you will have a 4-500 quid smoker - possibly a rotten one As said above though, black manual E30 = easy to shift - don't stress it too much unless its a real minger, they are great to drive.

And the E30 is probably the cheapest and simplest BMW ever to work on - it's no more complicated and in some ways easier to work on than my Skoda Estelles, which are by no means a complicated car! Agreed. Ive had nothing but reliability from e30s and ive just bought another. You can get 325i for that budget or even my favourite 318is if your lucky. Ive just bought a great condition early 316 for a fraction of that price...

The lovely red one off here I hope? You hope correct ;D Now with added MiMs and fresh vented brakes replacing the knackered solid rotors.
