Tash and i spent last thurs to yesterday out in Gibralter. The weather was immense, hitting 27 on some days!
This was our third trip in the past year, so having done the tourist type places before it was an idea opportunity to get some more random photos of the place - and their selection of retro rides of course!
The first thing that always hits me is the cost of fuel. In pounds and pence out there of course!
As soon as we arrived i spotted this beauty of a lada! Thankfully it was still in the same place the next day when i went back to get the photo. There are loads of cars there that just never move, because you don't really need a car to get about Gib.
We stayed at her Grans place, and just outside was this little beauty.
With the coolest pimpin snakeskin interior!
And this lovely mini was in a car park just down the road
As we walked down Main Street this was making the rounds
As you walk down to her Aunt and Uncles you pass the Ford garage, where this Orion has ALWAYS been parked!
We spent a huge amount of time over and around her aunt and uncles, where these were parked pretty much for the duration of our visit
I have to add in this pic. This is parking on Gib, they have pretty much no idea about rules of the road out there. Yes, it is a two lane stretch of road. And yes it is a pedestrian crossing. And yes it is parked. Well, more abandoned i suppose! ;D
Her aunt and uncles place looks over the marina, where i went hunting for snaps and this had been left around
As we wandered the island i found so many things that i just thought were awesome, especially this old talbot sign!
Tash has a favourite beach which we walked up to on one day, and it meant we passed some idea opportunities for retro snaps. Somewhat appropriately this was at the graveyard
and this a little further down
until you come to a massive area before the beach which seems to be some kind of landfill site/tip/randon abandonment area - this was the pick of the delights i think
and then as we were walking down to the beach i spotted the good old faithful bus which was definitely there last summer!
and upon closer inspection realised why it might not have moved
and finally, it wouldnt be a holiday without a beetle snap, and this one was queuing at the carwash
and got washed ;D
we didnt get to the other side of the island where i know theres a load of other delights. Ive got some pics from last year, i might dig them out later ....
