After careful deliberation, i've decided to sell my lovely B2 Passat and concentrate on my mk1 Jetta. I bought the car in March this year off a bloke a mile down the road from me. His grandad had bought it new in 1987, and since his death he and his brother had both owned the car. I have virtually every scrap of history with this car, the only thing missing is the original bill of sale. When I collected it it was in a pretty sorry state, coverered in moss and various other curse word, and the exhaust was shot, it was rotten from front to back. In the time I have had it, it has had a complete new exhaust, which I had shipped over from Germany (£180 fitted), a thorough service, and it has been lowered 55mm on springs also imported from the motherland (cost £120). I also fitted a set of 15'' Estorils that have recently had a full refurb - acid dipped, powdercoated black, and the lips diamond cut, and all shod with new tyres. It's fair to say i've spent a fair bit. I had to fit a new seal on the front passenger door a few weeks ago as the old one had begun to let water in.
This is a pretty rare and unusual VW, it gets loads of attention wherever it goes, and i've never seen another on the road. It has been my daily since July and it has been great fun.

Audi 2.0 injected 5-cylinder engine (sounds lovely, and goes really well) with manual 5-speed box
Only 54k from new, with FSH to prove
Power steering
Central locking
Electric windows front and back
Really comfy seats, interior is immaculate, seats fold down to reveal EPIC boot space
and a few other luxuries like headlamp washers etc
MOT until June 2011
The bad bits;
Two weeks ago I was driving home and I lost all gears except fourth, managed to get it home but it appears that the clutch slave cylinder has gone. After topping up the clutch fluid and bleeding the air out, the car now drives and goes into gears ok, but it needs sorting urgently. Unfortunately when I moved it a few days ago, one of the hoses from the radiator split and peed water everywhere.
There is a dent in the bonnet, it should push out easily but i've never bothered. There is a stone chip on the windscreen, and one on the o/s fog lamp. There is a bit of rust forming on the rear arches but it's not serious yet. There are a few scratches here and there, the worst of which is a 6'' key mark on the n/s rear quarter panel.
Some of the chrome trim around the windows has faded and wants replacing. Also the headlining has sagged and wants refitting.
The drivers electric window has packed up and needs a new mechanism (same as pre-90 mk2 Golf, about £40 from GSF), it is currently wedged shut.
It's a difficult car to price, and it owes me a fair bit, so i'll say £850 ono with the rims, or £600 ono without. I'll try and get some recent pics up on Monday (that's as soon as I can get over to the garage where it is being stored) so you can see what it looks like now. There are a few bits i'll be throwing in, the towbar with electrics that was removed, the standard springs (useful for if you wanted to chop them and get it LOW) and the original steels if it is sold with the alloys.
