Well check this out, I'm unsure at the moment, i like the mechanical work but the wheels? I think ill go with a provisional yes, but a smaller deeper dish wheel with a big hit from the stick? Oh i don't know! This is from the site - This 1st Gen Civic is definitely something unique. The motor is a 1.6L DOHC 16V non-VTEC motor with a custom turbo install done here at Race Solutions. So too was the intercooler and piping work, along with the 2.5" exhaust system, all expertly crafted by Maroun. A Microtech MT8 controls the motor, and currently the setup is being run-in so no great power figures are available as yet. J

Those wheels look way too big for the car, too modern for such a chariot.
Bloody nice ride though, front end looks well aggresive.

I dislike both the wheels and the exposed intercooler, other than that it's pretty much what I'd do if I got a GenI Civic, except I wouldn't put the turbo on.

Pink with shiny chome wheels has been in fashion among a certain set in Australia for a few years now. Similarly with the exposed intercooler.
What's airbrushed on the bonnet?

Yes but do they have the class to do up a Gen1 Civic and not something more putrid. Those rims are called Titans, every body has them here in NZ. Very cool idea, but yeah, lose the huge chrome rims and the exposed i/c and it'd be a mint sleeper. Who'd expect that!

the engine is cool and no doubt a really good job, but i cant like the car because it looks like a tractor! why would you fit wheels like that when you have loads of cool dished j-wheels avaliable to you?!

I like it, I'd have another set of wheels though, so I could have different 'looks'.

I've had three Mk1 Civics and I love 'em. I'd have another anyday and probably will seek one out some time. The wheels on that one are truly disgusting but I like the rest of it. I don't mind big rims but the style of those is just nasty. They look like large plastic Halfords wheel trims

Having slept on it, the rims don't do it justice, not the best choice IMO style or size.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I like the car, but the wheels aren't right at all IMO. I thought they were Audi items at first. I'm not a fan of modern wheels on retro cars in general - I think some dish is important for 70s cars

Modern rims can look fine but only if the style is right like the rims on this estate... Personally though, I'd go for something more period looking like this... -Ed
