hi I thought I'd post some pics of my project car. its a 1984 2.8 injection sport granada estate, ultra rare car this is being an estate, the saloons are very rare too but there more common than estates, ive had this car afew months now, its been off the road since 2003 and needs a full restoration but its pretty solid in all the right places, at the moment I'm looking for another engine as unfortuanateley the original engine and manual gearbox were removed years ago. I'd like to have the car ready to show next year and as close to original as I can get it, this is a car ive wanted for years but never thought one would come my way so I had it as soon as opurtunity came up if anyone has a sport granada or bits off one to sell PLEASE PLEASE let me know as I'm after a fair bit of stuff

Very nice mate. As you say very rare too. I think that most of the "sport" parts are trim specific as opposed to mechanical. IIRC the only mechanical differences were the suspension? A 2.8i engine shouldn't be too hard to get hold of, the manual 'box a little more so. What is the condition of the Recaro seats etc?

the interiors all pretty good and tidy apart from drivers seat has a rip, i could do with a complete 2.8i manual granada estate to use as a donor for engine etc and some trim, preferably lower spec

bleedin love that!!!!!!!! only ever seen one estate sport. that was a red one at battlesbridge gotta say, the mk2 granad estate is my favourite estate of all time. i like mk2 granadas on the deck but each to their own. give "tickover" in dartford a call, they sorted me out with a 2.8i engine for 150 quid!!! minus inlet . that said, theyll have all that too and wont rip you off either. they're capri specialists but love all old fords and will do whatever they can. theres someone in Classic Ford Mag this month selling 2 front wings for 140 quid too. just tryin to help

That's lovely, a mate of mine had one years back which sadly never made it back on the road. Had lovely seats in it, like you say, a very rare car. I wouldn't have thought you'd have too much trouble getting an engine & box for one, put a shout in the 'Wanted' section when you're ready to buy. Will be keeping an eye on this thread (got a soft spot for MK2 Granny's). ;D

Looks great. I think this is the perfect factory spec of MkII granny for me as the estate is huge mungosly and the 2.8 and manual box make it more exciting to drive. I had a Gold 2.3v6 Estate with the autobox and it sounded good but wasn't very fast.
