i used to see a few of these over Mildenhall/ Lakenheath when i used to work in and around the bases. I wouldnt be too suprised at those times, the mopar lump, so ive read, is pretty tunable. Ive been in a Horizon once, a long time ago, i thought it was a comfortable, nippy car. Perhaps it was poor marketing or auto snobbery which meant that it never sold in the quantities it should. One would make a blinding retro project now.

That simca pick up truck is such a fugly pile of s**t!!!! I love it! It was ar RCS last year, i took a load of pics.
It looks like a proper DIY lash-up, all the funnier that it came out the factory looking like that! Look at the tailgate! some heavy 'Ifor Williams' influence there i'm sure.

The Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizons were actually pretty good little cars. The GLH, GLHS and Shelby versions (they were separate)were little pocket rockets.
And whoever told you about hitting 9's? Not a line, they were fine ;D
Nothing really wrong with our versions ;D

Seem to remember my Grandad had a few talbots. A couple of solaras and a horizon, if I remember right. Lots of velour and metallic brown and gold! They were never that reliable, one of his solaras broke down on its first trip (family holiday) but then that was just added excitement to a small child like me ( I didn't get out much) Went from them to a Rover and then a Chrysler neon (which he still has).

just amuses me the amount of times they'll reuse the same engine/chassis components, build a 'new' car, rename it five times, then sell it to a developing country. I know most of them started out as Hillmans and Chryslers etc but i'm at the age where I remember them all being badged Talbots, apart from my mum's bronze 1600 Sunbeam GL one of my primary school teachers had a Matra Rancho, huge beast. Remember it well parked in the carpark next to a Lancia Dedra and a povo-povo mk1 Astra with the round headlamps.

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.
