As most of you know, Nicola and I got married on the 6th August, and moved to our new house the 3rd September.
The house suits our "combined" lives to a T, and although it was perfect, there was loads to do, and some money to be spent to get it the way we wanted it.
The Office/Study is the smallest room, and had not been touched in more than 20 years , since the house extension was done, so had no carpets, closed in window hole, and 1920's plaster and 1960's wallpaper in places.
We got Glen, our plasterer in to sort out the room, and also the spare room, which needed as much attention.
Now both Nicola and I like stuff to be just a bit different, so decided that the one wall of the office would be covered in comic strip pages...... bought from bootfairs over summer.
I had a 5x10 foot sheet of plywood left over from the Teardrop build, and cut 5x6 foot from it, painted it 3 coats of matt emulsion, and then selected and cut out the pages from 2 book that had cost a total of £1.00.
Add to that crappy winter weather, a wife at work, and you have me in the kitchen on the floor with a tub of mixed wallpaper paste.
Next up will be a couple of coats of clear waterbased varnish to keep it all in place, and then screwed up against the wall.
Pics tell the rest of the story to date.
Tell me what you think ??
Office walls after decoration.
Halfway there.
Done with wallpaper paste, upright in front of gas heater to dry paste fast.
By the way, the wet paper wrinkles you can see in the pic, dry away completely and smooth out once dried, thankfully.
Trusting you approve of my cheap entertainment.
Next up, fitted picture.
