I'm going to fit an exhaust to the supercarry this week, any tips for me? I've only ever fitted scooter pipes before so could do with a few pointers. I've got the exhaust and fittings ordered but do I need anything else, I've seen assembly paste but not sure if I need it. Once I sort that and the warning light it should be MOT time!

I don't reckon you'll need assembly paste. Well, I've never used it anyway. Be prepared for sheared bolts and stuff - zorsts seem to be able to rust faster than any other component on a car! Not much else to say really... oh, except goggs - nowt worse than rust in the eyes! Good luck

go out and spray all the clamp bolts with WD40 now. then do it tomorrow, the day after, and every day until you fit the exhaust. then it may just come off

If you use assembly paste, use Firegum, it expands when i gets hot so gives a good seal

If the pipe ends are flanged you normally don't need any paste as long as you have gaskets if it slotted pipe held on with U-bolts then its normally better with paste, but makes it a pig to seperate again should the need arise.

Cheers for the tips. I've managed to get the old one off, thanks mainly to the fact that it was only bolted on to one of the mounts! there was also a piece of wire 'supporting' it but that came off easy with my snips. Its in two sections which both need replacing so I left them connected when I took it off. I've left it soaking in case I need to salvage any bolts/nuts.
