ooops! anyone got a ford english/timken diff knocking about going cheap? theres a few on ebay but they are all obscure ratios hence going for a lot of cash - I'm not really fussed on ratios tho. still, i was quite proud of my efforts on that one ;D ;D ;D

ive seen the exact saame diff (4.1:1 english jobby) in 300bhp cossie powered mk1 escorts.
not sure exactly how it went pop. although i was giving it a bit of a caning with 2 other lads in the back round a roundabout with a load of inverse camber and it.
after that point it didnt like turning corners without going 'BANG BANG BANG BANG'
;D ;D ;D
ah well, a new un's not gonna be a lot, ill live.

i was more concerned about rasing a sweat to remove the halfshafts from there 26 year place of residence with just about every slide hammer, puller, jigger, and general types of tugging that are known to man.

Well as its just the spider gears just get your welder out and weld them up. I am sure you would find a locked diff much more enjoyable ;D

mines already got a 4.1 diff (Well did before i broke it)
the 4.4 is the highest one (there is a 5.1, 6.1 and 6.6 diff also but i think these are aftermarket jobbies) that came in a standard car - and they fetch a fair whack on ebay, so ill stick with a 3.89 until i can afford to make up a decent back axle
