Been a bit busy with the Monza this week and so far got the following done. Full progress is here
But in brief.
Standard wheel is ok but at about 15" diameter is a bit big and I hit my knees on it, aftermarket bosses are difficult to get hold off so decided to make my own using the middle of a standard wheel
and a nissan micra momo fit boss and steering wheel I bought of ebay for £15.
now looks like this.
Needed to drop the seat as well as monza`s are not endowed with much in the way of headroom, and as I intend to use it for competition I need enough room to get a bash hat on.
Modified seat rail has saved around 2 1/2" inch.
Still probably not enough so only way I can gain more will be to remove the sunroof at some point.
However front interior now looks like this
Also finally been getting the back end repainted after I had fitted a new arch section so gone from this.....
...to this
Fairly happy with the results and once the paint hardens and it gets rubbed down and cut, it should look pretty good.
And finally been modifying the back box.
I modified and fitted a chavvy back box late last year as the old one was fubarred and the standard ones sound a little souless, but I wasnt happy with the way I had it mounted or the angle it sat at. I wanted to tuck it up a bit more inside the car
Now looks like this
and sounds like this (video and sound)
List of jobs left to do before MOT.
1) fit koni rear adjustables
2) remove back seats
3) Make and fit rear strutbrace.
4) Fit steering idler arm.
5) Modify hydraulic handbrake so that it sits close to gearstick when in reverse
Its only number 4 that needs doing for test but while its in the garage I thought it would be rude not to do the rest
