Any reason why you can't use it? It know you can get high temp enamel (i've got a tin of satin black that I was gonna use) but i've got a load of normal enamel spray tins in daft colours that would look better. I've used it on brake calipers before with no problems.

Would've thought that if it went on a good clean surface and was cured up nicely (which could take a while, days), it'd probably be good. Just a guess though, but normal 2k is doing fine on my bike engine, round the exh ports and all.
Might be worth a test, paint a small Thing, lob in in the oven for an hour...

I've used household gloss paint in the past, and that stuck on just fine.

Yeah I can't spray that though. All the underside of the car is daft colours, outside is staying murdered though.

I used standard car colour spray paint from Halfords and it stayed on without cracking for about 5 years (when I sold the engine). ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/stationmiek/wip-rpd/gsiengine-after1.jpg)
