Sadly the time has come to let go of my lovely Polo. I am selling due to financial problems and not being able to afford to keep it on the road and get it repaired. Today it failed the MOT on a fair amount of things though with the correct parts it could easily be repaired in a day and back on the road.

Offside Stop lamp not working (1.2.1b)
Nearside Headlamp aim too low and too far to the left. (1.8)
Windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A' (8.3.1e)
Offside Rear hole inside wheel arch marked out in yellow chalk. Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded (2.4.A.2)
Offside Rear patch on rear outer sill not welded to panel behind it at all. Suspension component mounting prescribed area is inadequately repaired (2.4.A.2)
Nearside Front Track rod end ball joint has excessive play (2.2.B.1f)
Nearside Front constant velocity joint gaiter split (2.5.C.1a)
Nearside Front due to being excessively lowered. Shock absorber has negligible damping effect (2.7.5)
Offside Front due to being excessively lowered. Shock absorber has negligible damping effect (2.7.5)
Offside Front perrished exposing brading. Brake hose excessively deteriorated (3.6.B.4d) **DANGEROUS**
Front brakes imbalanced (3.7.A.2d) **DANGEROUS**
Advisory Notice issued
Nearside Front Brake hose slightly deteriorated (3.6.B.4d)
Front brake pads low.
Centre exhaust has a slight blow.
Both front lower susp arm bushes have play in them.
Front anti roll bar d bushes have play in them.
Play found in o/s/f bottom ball joint.
Rear seats have been removed from the vehicle.
Rear metal brake pipes corroded.
The most major bit of work is a small patch of welding near the petrol filler inside the arch, and I am told I can appeal for the suspension being too firm and the fact it is 'excessively lowered', the suspension was bought from a legitimate seller on ebay around 5 months ago. Anyway, here are some more details.
1989 Mk2 Polo in Helios Blue, very rare in squareback format.
1043cc, engine runs lovely with no problems, unusual noises or fault, like a new car. Very cheap to run and relatively quick too due to the car only weighing around 700kg.

sealed shock absorbers and uprated springs, bought 5 months ago and offer a 60mm drop at a price of £140. 'JOM' brand.
Comes with extensive service history and a lot of old MOT's, I am the third owner from new. Last serviced November 2009.
Very good condition interior, seats would benifit from a light clean but there are no rips or marks. Rear seats have been taken out due to hole formed in arch and I didn't want the bench to get ruined by the water that comes in slightly during heavy rain.
The rear arches were pulled to accommodate my 7x13 et 0 Weller steels so it is ready for some wide wheels again. The Wellers will not be included in the sale, it will come on the standard steels with good tyres.
I can't really think of much else to say about it, other than it has been my favourite car I have owned and I wish I could afford to get it through another MOT. It handles excellently and gets lots of attention everywhere it goes. I would say it would cost £150 -200 to get all work done properly and through MOT. A lot of the failure points can be fixed within minutes.
I want £250 and think it is definitely worth that, if you know what your doing you could have this car on the road very easily, I just wish I had more time, money and enthusiasm to sort it out! If you realllly want the Wellers, I am going to say £300 extra for them as they have month old Dunlops on them, and I would rather keep them. I am also open to swaps too...
